4º GP of rolimã

On August 20, 2011 we had 4 gp soapbox car.
When we arrived it was raining but that did not stop us from running.
We took our cars and we position ourselves for the first battery.
Our group ran the first heat and were disqualified in the second battery.
The group that came first was the Roli Flame and the group that was ranked second REGGAE WHEELS.
In this championship had many other attractions such as bands, dances and foods.

VISITING THE WOODWORK

We went to colegio Rainha da Paz's woodwork. There we met Eduardo, and we intervewed him.
He told us that to make a soapbox car is necessary a wood board, two axes, a brake, four rolls, and screws.
He also told us the name of some tools, such as saw, hammer drill, and screwdriver.
Eduardo will help us throughout the project musp guiding us in what is necessary.

toys & games

On our religion classes, we are discussing about toys and games. Nowdays, the kids don´t use the toys, they just want to have toys, and not play whith them. previously all played together, they built their own toys very different from today, because all play each with its own video game.

MUSP project

In this project, MUSP (Memoria e Urbanização de São Paulo) the students of  7th grade from Colégio Rainha da Paz have to look for informations about their family in old São Paulo in all subjects.
On History classes, Portuguese classes, Math classes, P.E. classes, Geography classes, Science classes, Arts classes, Religious Education classes, Music classes and English classes we're making this blog as the English project to comunicate our work.
On history classes, we're talking about the immigration in Brasil.
In portuguese classes, we're reading a book about a girl that had emigrated to Brazil from Russia.


In math classes we're learning about measures to build a rolimã cart.
In physical education classes, we're learning about racing cars.
In geography classes, we're learning about the changes in São Paulo and cultural heritage.
In science classes we're learning about wood.




In arts classes we're learning about culture and urbanization in São Paulo.
In Religious Education classes we're learning about recycling.

Soap Box car and Billy Kart

The Soapbox car is from United States.  
Originally, soapbox cars were bilt from woodem soap boxes and roller-skate wheels. They are propelled by gravity and can achive speeds upwards of 100km/h (62 miles per hours).
